Why
Sectra Tiger/S is a secure keypad phone used where confidentiality is critical. As technology moves towards touchscreens, an interface is needed that keeps the safety and clarity of the buttons.
What I did
I designed the interface for a future secure touch version of the phone and wrote my bachelor's thesis on the project, exploring how security features can be communicated clearly on a touchscreen. Multiple iterations have been designed.
What I learned
How to balance security and usability, and how important it is that the user always understand the interface. Which could be a huge security risk otherwise. I also learned to connect design decisions to theory in cognitive science.
